Introduction :
My name is your name.
In the next few paragraphs I will try to explain my background and also articulate my aims and objectives and the vision I have about my future as a Pharmacy professional. I come from a family where success is measured by only one parameter – “Education”.
My father, Mr.your father name has done his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Commerce and is now working as Senior Divisional Manager in an Insurance Company. My mother has done her graduate degree in Sciences and my sister is pursuing her B.Tech at D.V.R.CET, Hyderabad
My parent’s sole motive is to make me a person full of enthusiasm and zeal for education. Now I have realized the extent of my dreams and the great responsibilities which I have to undertake with ease and confidence.
Education :
My schooling was in KOTAK SALESIAN SCHOOL Sri Chaitanya College , Vijayawada Hyderabad
Co-Curricular Activities :
Right from childhood, besides the academics I used to participate in several competitions in Elocution, Essay Writing, Seminars, Memory contests etc. and I have won many prizes and certificates (enclosed in the file).
In the undergraduate program of Pharmacy also I participated in several competitions. One of my high points in my undergraduate studies is to win the first prize in quiz conducted all over the state by the Pharmacy Council of India.
Seminars and Presentation :
I have given seminars and collected great volumes of data on :
1. Role of Pharmacists in controlling AIDS.
2. Smoking and Alcohol intake and its adverse affects.
3. Prevalence of Diabetes and Hypertension in the rural areas.
4. Transdermal and Novel Drug Delivery Systems.

Reason for Selecting the United States
By surfing the websites of US Educational Services I came to understand the standards of education in US and the respect it commands worldwide. Moreover many American researchers authored most of my text books in my undergraduate days. Therefore I aspire to interact and learn from these great people from the first hand. A perusal of your University catalogue and website has convinced me that the quality of education and faculty, career oriented programmes. Student-Faculty Interaction and International ambience provides for a wide exposure and excellent cross culture learning.
Why Pharmaceutical Sciences :
Now there is a rat race between the countries for new drug discoveries and design. The research includes the pharmacological experiments. The Patent Act 2005 is fast approaching. The WTO Patent Act will soon be introduced. I am interested in research. So I prefer to take a graduate programme in Pharmaceutical Sciences, with ‘Pharmacology’ as my ‘Major’. The Science of Pharmacology will help the upcoming pharmacists to develop New Drug Designs and Delivery Systems and to take the Pharmacy from a “Product Oriented Health Care Services” to a “Patient Oriented Health Care Services”. I am sure that my exposure to these kind of diverse subjects will broaden my concepts from narrow counters to Nationalism to Internationalism.
Conclusion :
It will be a dream come true if I am given an opportunity to undertake graduate studies in your prestigious University. A financial Aid and Assistanceship will help me to gain research experience and place me in a good stead in my career. With specialized knowledge in the field of Pharmaceutical Sciences, I intend to work with the society in formulating sound health policies inventing new drug designs and also to educate and motivate other community pharmacy workers to perform their tasks effectively.
